as above, how reliable are they?
Do they tend to suffer like turbos?
Do you need to let the car cool down before you switch off the engine?

My compressor sits in the garage and I just use it for blowing up tyres these days and the odd bit of spraying,,always works though and no problems

Superchargers tend to be more reliable than turbo chargers, primarily because they don't get as hot and therefore don't need the cool down period in order to prevent the bearings seizing when you turn the engine off.

You'll also find that they put less thermal stress on the engine, hence why you really need an intercooler on a turbocharged engine but not on a superchrged one.
