I know we're getting off topic, but its much worse in America. At the Theme Parks you can rent those buggies if your too lazy (or Fat) to walk around the park. I did not know this until this fat git drove upto the ride (there's me thinking, how are you gonna get on this ride) and they just stepped off and on the ride. I was gobsmacked

Why gobsmacked...I don't get it? Mobility scooters are for those unable to walk distance. It doesn't stop them stepping on to a rollercoaster.

I'm talking about self inflicted obesity, Why are YOU being provacative?

...because since the video of the poor women falling off her scooter...there is an assumption that people in scooters (and wheel chairs) cannot walk. Therefore if they can stand or step on to a rollercoaster they have no need for said scooter. Until you have walked in their shoes...

How do you know the obesity was self inflicted, and not caused by, say, diabetes?

Good of her rescuers not managing to find the emergency stop for the escalator.

Interestingly a mobility scooter is one of the few vehicles that you can't be banned from driving for being over the drink drive limit.
You can get points on your license and be banned whilst being over the limit whilst riding a horse.

diabetes = FAT = myth !

Even with insulin resistance, you still need to consume vast quantities of food to be fat.

However there ARE many valid reasons for 'limited' mobility such as weak heart (getting on a roller coaster  )

This is true.

What people confuse is that obese people become diabetic because their body can't produce enough insulin for their bulk and the amount of food that they eat.

In fact untreated diabetics that eat normally tend to lose weight as glucose from eating carbohydrates isn't stored but flushed from the body in their urine.

As my grandmother used to tell me, "It's a tale of two holes. People who are fat have an a**ehole smaller than their cake-hole!"

Maybe a bad example...but as you say...limited mobility does not mean people can't stand and walk a little...just not as much as the rest of us.

What gets me is that she even contemplated trying to ride her mobility chair up the escalator.

Possibly.
I've seen it done by a young chap in a modern, "manual" wheelchair, but having had to extricate my grandma many years ago from a display area in a china shop I know that these powered jobs are seriously heavy.

I'll ask how much the insurance will go up after they stop laughing :)

Well I believe I introduced you to Dan, my insurance guy, in person... although the fact I have to have a specific insurance guy isn't a good sign :D
