Ive had my S210 since early last year, when i first got it my best was 51 mpg on a long trip. it would shoot up to 40+ atleast easily on a not so long motorway commute. and easily 35-40 around town.

Nowdays im honestly struggling to break 35 on the motorway with a feather foot, i hit 40 on a long commute the other day but its really nothing compared to it used to be.

It was 1000 miles out of service due, and considering i have it remapped and given a hooning more than often i went ahead and serviced it, Oil, filter, fuel filter, and half a ATF change. Ive even just put a new water pump in so it should be healthy and happy at temperature. None of that seems to have made a difference though.

I should mention that ive just had to let a bit of oil out of it because it gave a me warning on the motorway yesterday, but i havn't driven it since. I wouldnt have thought that was the cause though.

I should also mention the mods - straight pipe exhaust, egr delete, remap

Any ideas for me?

Maybe give it a drink of that diesel engine cleaner product you can put in your fuel etc?

2 things. more power and using it whether you intend to or not, and check the engine temp. anything below around 85c is too low and the thermostat will need replaced

EGR and CAt removal should be irrelevant, as far as noticing MPG changes goes

assuming thermostat is ok, colder outside temps can also make a difference. on the run to work, my old 203 used to drop up to 3mpg in the frosty/snowy winter weather, and regain the 3 MPG during the summer

Where is the actual engine temperature display? Is it the coolant temperature display?

Mine is a saloon and that averages 37 MPG. I have seen 41 MPG on a motorway run and that's using the full tank to tank calculation and not the hopelessly inaccurate display.

Yours sounds perfectly normal.
