large bang car slumped!

Hi just had a call from my partner say thewy were driving along the road and all of a sudden a large bomp from the back side of the car (passenger side) apparently car over to left slightly......what could this be.....said it sounded like a puncher but wasnt!....

EDIT::: update...... not back it;s the front drivers side.

Not particularly expensive although due to their length normal spring compressors are both dangerous and useless. With your VIN No. your dealer should be able to provide the correct spring(s). There are many different springs dependant upon options and model so it is worth getting the correct MB ones. I would also replace them as an axle pair.

If a W210 it could be a spring perch failure.

There may be a plastic/rubber bit between the spring and seat, if so change these as well as both sides springs. If its a corroded spring perch see MB and try to get them to pay under the rust warranty.

Update: I have had the car up and it is the spring! Luckily for me it will only cost £50. Now limp off to the garage!!! thanks to all for help - as always!
