Still reeling from my unexpected "goodwill" payment from Mercedes Benz for the entire cost of replacing both back springs, I've splashed out and have just "won" a later (latest) style grille for my CLK (A209) on e-Bay. This is the one with fewer (thicker) horizontal bars and it is a brand new, genuine, boxed item. Hopefully this will be a simple "clip into place" replacement, but I'll not find out until Christmas (sorry to use that word in October), since the missus has spotted it and deemed it the ideal Xmas present for me (being so difficult to buy for) and it'll be wrapped and hidden before I even get a butchers.
It was blue wheel centre caps, last Christmas, that had me removing wheels in the freezing cold, on the drive, on Boxing day morning - confirming the neighbours' opinion that I'm not quite right in the head!!!:roll:
Same again this year, unless I can sneek out during the Queen's speech!!!
