True Chrishazle. Damn warning light now come up on dashboard. Bet manual says refer to dealership?!!!
Not going there!!!
Diagnostic tool is only showing issues with 3 glow plugs. Would that cause the warning light?

You've had the battery off, once you get it running and you steer lock to lock those lights should go out

ABS warnings and others as steering angle sensor hasn't a clue as to where it is. Need to go lock to lock and drive a few yards.

Priorities, man!
A car that doesn't go is just so much dead metal.

Concentrate on the fuel, get the motor running, and those pretty lights will disappear with a few minutes work.

Yep okay I know. Focus Burns focus!!!! Just wondered if the warning was anything stopping her firing up.

Having “milk” for fuel will though...

I was going to then but realised you were being serious. My girlfriend has a Masters in chemistry so she’s helping to figure out what is happening with the diesel.

Empty the tank of the contaminated fuel, check there’s no water leak into the tank. Fill tank with fresh fuel. Charge battery, check fuel getting to injectors. Start engine

Your high pressure fuel pump is homogenising your contaminated fuel, dump it and flush the syatem.

I think you mean emulsifying...?

Drain the tank, refill with fresh and bleed through. Then try again.
I'd be curious to know how so much water entered the system.

Sigh!! Okay. Is there a quick way of doing this? Especially as we currently have no idea how much fuel is in there. And how the dickens do I check for water ingress?
Video is still uploading to YouTube.

Emulsification is the addition of a third component that binds two dissimilar fluids, homogenisation is the combining of two dissimilar fluids at molecular level under extreme pressure/heat. Without knowing the contents of the fuel tank I'm presuming diesel and water and the extreme pressures of the HP fuel pump. Emulsified products generally separate in time whereas Homogenised products don't.

ETA, But the fuel filter is pre HP fuel pump isn't it? and I can't see the fuel transfer pumps generating in excess of 100 Bar which is what would be required as a minimum pressure for homogenisation, so you're right I probably do mean emulsification!

From the girlfriend, okay so if we need to remove the fuel before the fuel pump how does one remove the fuel before that so as close to the fuel tank as possible?
Robbie has now sat down and is enjoying a glass of wine. We’ve been both dealing with the car while chopping branches off trees today. Busy day.

Interesting look of your fuel. I would do as others and keep cranking with the supply line disconnected. Being a 646 it shoukd have an in tank lift pump, which means it should pump fuel ignition on position 2.

Another note, your starter sounds very loud. Did you examine the teeth on the flywheel when replacing the starter?

Can you remind me what caused the original starter to fail?

Hydraulic lock of the engine I believe - cylinders full of water
