I with you on that. I was at my dealer earlier and they had a TV with pictures of the new E coupe on it. I want to like it but am not sure that I do as you say they look quite aggressive. However that said I do like look the new C class, so maybe the new E will grow on me.

I suppose most of us will only see it from behind - I think that's why they take so much care over the appearance of the tailpipes!

I like it, think it looks great. New E-Class Saloon is supposed to be the most aerodynamic saloon car out there and the E-Class Coupe the most aerodynamic within the coupe ranges.

Can't say dropping the old cars 6.2 (its not a 6.3 litre engine) was that good an idea-its hardy progress over its predessor. Still a nice car but that engine needs a twin turbo or better still a supercharger.

Every new BMW M5 has an all new engine developed for that specific car. With the last 2 AMG E classes brought out after the last model the engine has been a development of its predecessor. 210 E36 AMG had similar engine to 124 E36. 211 E55 had similar engine to 210 E55 but supercharged. This 212 63 is up different engine chip to the last 211 E36.

Its the replacement 212 E63 that will represent progress, this is a stop gap car. Its replacement will be a turbo'd downsized V8. This may make this current E class more sought after.

I however still think MB have failed us, a supercharged E63 would have been epic. Or better still go with the S65 engine and give us a V12 twin turbo unless for some reason the car could only make do with an 8.
