Leaking petrol W203

Anybody heard of filling up over half full and petrol p****g out?
Is it a hole in the pipe to the tank or the tank - very strange???

You will have to look under the car, there will be a black damp patch on the tank,probably at the weld on the filler pipe, this is where 124's rust through

Is it only certain years of the W202 that rust attacks the bottom of the filler pipe?
