Leather Seat Cracking

Hi The drivers seat leather is cracking on my 66 plate. Would the leather be more supple if I had regularly applied leather cleaner??

Are you sure it is Leather and not Artico. The standard 'Leather' in an MB is a leather looking Vinyl and that does crack.

Hi AJD, how does one know whether the upholstery is leather or faux leather. Do the numbers on the car or handbook identify?

Build sheet (VIN decoder) is the only real way if knowing for sure.

I do dislike black interiors. My wife wants us to downsize to an A Class but I am against it albeit probably losing the battle, but I just don't like Black interiors. My current MB has Light Grey which I love.

I have located a C200p AMG Line in Blue with Light Grey and it looks great and seems to be pretty rare. Although we are in a position to buy it my wife wants to wait until we get the money in from the sale of my deceased Mum's house, so I am just crossing my fingers at the moment.

A photo may help members identify the issue, my car has real leather seats which I read have a vinyl type covering so if real leather it could be the covering that is cracking.

Seen a post on Facebook in which an owner has was won against Mercedes for advertising leather, when in fact it's artico. Took a while though, but the precedence has been set.

This was just before I bought my car .... I even discussed it with the salesman. I doubt it'll bother MB much as people lease cars based on a monthly payment & are more concerned with the 3 point star rather than the car itself
