Will led replacement bulbs work in my 2001 W220? (S320L cdi)

I was thinking of replacing the rear number plate bulbs and front side light bulbs. But dont want to do it if they will not work properly. I dont mind if it actually says I have bulbs out so long as they actually work...

cheers guys, Dan

Can't see why they won't work really.Number plate lights don't seem to bother the bulb failure monitor(on my 202 anyway).Sidelights will however bring up a warning unless the LEDs have a ballast resistor to fool the system into thinking it has a normal filament lamp. However,I'm not sure if these are available.Fitted some LED tail light units on a brand new Merc truck last week-it didn't like it one bit. A phone call to MB at MK asking 'how can we' etc.got the reply 'You can't'!. 'Well then, can we disable the monitoring system?' 'No, that's illegal'.Hope my reply hasn't created more problems than it solves.

It is hardly worth the hassle, the monitoring circuit does not like it as Jay said
