My clock and outside temperature LED display is wonky, apparently a known problem. I have been quoted by Mercedes in Derby just over £1000 for the replacement of the complete dash. They don't fix, they replace, is what I was told. He did say that there are companies which can fix it, but didn't say which.

I had the same problem a while ago, bought the Ribbon Kit with fitting instructions on ebay for around £ 20.00 and with a bit of patience it took about 30 mins to fit new ribbon and problem solved, you don't need to be an expert to fit this part, just a little perserverance and make sure all contacts are in line and making correctly and you should have no trouble fitting this yourself.
    Best Regards
