Hello

I'm a new member to this forum and have just bought a C270 cdi estate year 2002 (52). It's a great car but has a few niggling problems as follows;
1. The main xenon headlamps seem to come on by themselves after a short period of driving with the switch on '0' off position. No rear lights are on just front headlamps and side lamps. I have tried the menu settings and it is set to manual not constant. Also tried re-setting everything but no luck. Lights do go off when ignition is switched off but it is just a weird situation.
2. The audio 10 radio/cd has a flashing Led on it to show there is power to it but we can't switch it on and on dash message saying Audio_ _ _ _ comes up. Fuse at back of unit is OK
3. The locking button on front passenger door bounces up and down a few times when locking. (i'm guessing this could be a faulty or worn solenoid on the lock)

Would appreciate any help from a kind member on the above especially point 1

Thanks in advance

I had a similar problem with my lights a couple of years ago. The front lights came on in broad daylight, with the switch either in position 0 or Auto.

It was still under warranty at the time (c220 cdi estate 2002 model). The dealer fixed it by replacing the automatic lighting control unit. Problem has never recurred.

Q2, the radio. I don't believe that there is a radio code with the W203 (certainly there is not one with my Audio 10).

Hope this helps

Thanks for that will try the auto lighting control unit sounds like exactly same problem as I have. The radio remains a mystery for now.
