W204 OM642 engine with 215,000 miles.
Was driving home and the car would only shift up at 3000rpm (normally 1500rpm). Felt like loss of turbo power although I could still get up to 70mph which was not my experience in other cars where limp mode kicked in or turbo failed.

No dash lights or messages. I drove home for 80 miles at 60/70mph at 2000rpm and this morning the car was changing gear normally, can't tell if there's less performance than normal because of traffic.

Would you go to a garage for diagnostic or "wait and see"?

I had the oil cooler seal done 3000 miles ago and they did replace two manifolds(?) as part of that.

Had a similar issue with my CLS , car would go into "limp home mode" without any fault lights being displayed and would be fine after a restart, when it eventually displayed a EML there was a few similar historic fault messages displayed .

For certain faults they may have to occur a few times for it to display the "£" sign on the dash.

Mine was a faulty sensor in the exhaust and was fixed under warranty.

Did the Limp mode get worse or could you still drive home with the EML?

I didn`t get worse , it happened three / four times then the EML came up on the dash and it wouldn`t reset until the faulty sensor was replaced.
