Hi everyone,

I've just registered today but been looking since I got my '99 C200 back in March. My first Merc and best car yet.

After all of that torrential rain, the passenger footwell got swamped with water and the SRS light has come on. All dry again now but need to know:

1) Where is the diagnostic port to get the error code and reset SRS?

2) Do you know where I would get an error code list from?

Cheers,
Neil.

Hi Neil, you need to clean the air intake box and clear the water drain.

Re the SRS I would have said that the item affected is still wet, as you just cant remove the warning until the fault is cleared, no re set is needed

Hello Neil

Regarding:

"1) Where is the diagnostic port to get the error code and reset SRS?

2) Do you know where I would get an error code list from?"

The thread below details where I've got to on this, from an over-optimistic start to a realization that W202s will probably only yield to proper MB diagnostic software.

http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/showthread.php?t=29424

The diagnostic socket is in the engine bay, at the top of the bulkhead on the left/passenger side under a circular cap which is part of a lage plastic box for air-con.

As the thread will show there is limited diagnostics with standard OBDII kit.

Best wishes

David
