Have the car set to Netherlands coding. It works but isn't legal in the UK.

Any idea where I can see the legal aspects on the web ? When did it become illegal ?

Not sure where to get the details but it's been illegal for about 6 or 7 years due to everyone getting alarms that went 'chirp, chirp' when locking the car at 3am.

Hi,
My 1997 C230K "chirps" on arming/unarming (be it very quiet) of the standard Mercedes alarm.
I think what would be illegal in the "Netherlands coding" is,nt the alarm chirping but some other aspect of what the coding changes within the car.
