Locking wheel nut key missing

Well, I have looked everywhere, and the car is pretty much complete, so I don't understand why this is missing, I guess it was hidden 'really' well!

I've had all of the trunk apart, toolkit, brace, jack, spare wheel out, even looked behind the triangle, in the first aid kit and all pockets inside the car but no joy

It's the 'squiggly' type (a very rounded star shape), does this sound like a standard Merc key? If so could the dealer order one or is it time to take it somewhere and get things hammered onto the nut and get a new set?

I had this problem and took the car to the stealers, they had a box of a hundred or so including one to fit.

Try the above.

Failing that I think that the datacard in the back of the service book notes the key 'number'

Yep the dealer had a case with them all in, ID'd the one i needed and had one in stock!

Can you give me a hint what that cost?

I've still got my key, but the last tyre fitter I visited used his gun with the key. It 'works' but I'd not like to trust it for long!

I'll make sure they never ever do again!

I remember driving on the forecourt,the parts man had a box full of keys,found a match within 10 secs and change from a fiver.

And I got offered tea or coffee when I walked in to pay.

it was however about 6 years ago

mine was 20 something pounds a year ago. A very nice young lady came out of the parts dept and was bending over my wheels so everyone was a winner

Thanks for the suggestion, popped over to Mercedes today and after tea and biscuits they popped the car into the workshop, found the 'master' and ordered me one up.

All good, should be in on Friday

Now I can clean up the brakes and switch the alloys when the new ones arrive.
