Have you checked everywhere inside the car, drill them out.

Sounds like the ones I had on my Seat. Have you tried a VW dealer? Or Halfords?

Have a chat with a few of the local tyre fitting guys, and u will find someone who will be able to get them off these guys normally know what fits each differnt type of wheel lock nut.

thanks for the quick response

i know 100% that ive not got it as i keep it in a small bag inside the rucksack on the back of my chair and its taken out, used & replaced

my mates have had the car completely checked

ironically my mate sare all mechanics and rich is at a tyre place and used their thing that has an reverse thread so the tighter you unwind it the more it grips but it snapped!

my final optiuon is to weld another bit onto it but that might damage the wheel

ill try and get a pic

i read on another forum that the best thing to do is drive up to merseyside and leave the car in any council estate and they will be off in 10 mins, i thought this was a bit harsh

again thanks for the ideas

I think that you'l be left with trying to weld somethin to it, especially if you've got a broken stud extractor tip stuck in it.

If you're applying heat of any sort be careful of your alloy rims. They will have a far lower melting point than the steel bolt.

Get a socket thats a REALLY tight fit bash it on so it cuts into the nut head and try it been there done that loads of times. If that fails mig a nut on to the nut head.

You have to be manic about these locking wheel nuts.... I will not drive out of a dealers unless I've personally placed the locking nut keynut thing back in it's proper place myself.

I would go for drilling the head of the bolt before attemting to weld anything to it the welding would be a last resort

Drilling the bolt out will be the least likley to damage anything other than the bolt, but you must get it spot on the centre and be in line or you will be stuck with a damaged hole (in the hub) for the new bolt to go into.

If you cant get a tool the remove the bolt, get a highly skilled metal working man with a drill to cut it out, beware of the grease monkey with a power tool.

Tightening the 4 remaining bolts higher than they should be, should give you the best chance of removing the problem one as it will take some of the tension of it. You still need to get something that will fit over it tightly though if you are to get it to move & don't over tighten the others.

Had exactly the same problem with my Ford Cougar. They broke a number of sockets trying to get them off. The ONLY solution was to weld bolts on and get them off that way. It all sounded quite drastic but it was relatively straightforward. I seem to remember about an hours labour from a Fraud main dealer + new set of locking nuts. The original locking nuts were Ford OEM and the main dealer didn't have a master to get them off.

todays problem was that even after welding on another nut and leaving it to set for a while 1 turn and it snaped off then we ran out of gas

so he is going to buy better quality steel (no idea) and try again

my mate is a bit of an ex pikey in upwood and he says he will have them off in 10 mins!

well the TT currently has 15" sportline light alloys and need refurbing as they almost look flakey!

they have good tyres on them and i want rid of them

they were originally the polished ones

then again 15" is not that great

my 18" innovit spins arrived today and they just left them in my back garden and no one signed for them!
