Because I like interesting cars and in the past 5-10-years have migrated away from owning cars that depreciate drastically, in short periods of time, toward ones that retain their value but still offer high 'smiles-per-mile'.
Tell you about the one I saw...
It was a 1995, on loan to Merc World by an owner who belongs to the Mercedes Benz Club UK. It was a dark grey with a black/very dark grey interior.
How much do I think one will cost...
Like anything in life, something is only worth what someone will pay for it. I am in no doubt as to the relative obscurity of coupe E35 AMGs in RHD; however, as a start, one was sold about 12-months ago, with 70k on the clock for circa £11,000.
I hope that answers your questions and dissuades you from thinking I am either (a) a dreamer, (b) 12 or (c) unrealistic.... or all of them ;-)
Happy hunting for that E36 AMG Coupe, they do not come up often. A different animal, but very pretty and again rare (1 of 73?) as only produced for the Japanese market, Avantgarde have got a BlueBlack/Black leather, 1994 E400 AMG (Saloon), at the moment, 55000 miles @ £10995.
PS - if anyone knows the current owner of the car at Mercedes Benz world, and he would like to sell his car, please feel free to direct him my way. My understanding is that he is a member of the Mercedes Benz Club UK.
