Hi all.
Hope somebody can help - I'm trying to find a mechanic that can replace the main engine thermostat on a 2009 W204 C250 CDi Sport Auto. It's been subjected to diagnostics by In Front Autos who confirmed it is faulty, but they wanted nearly £500 to fix when all I need is a non-OEM basic/cheap repair, and within two weeks as the owner (a friend who I'm trying to help) has his driving test on the 30th and is looking to sell the car before ULEZ takes effect on August 31st. This needs to be fixed before his test!
Can anybody recommend a good mechanic around Romford or within 10 miles or so that would likely be able to do this for under £200? We don't want official parts as it's critical to keep the costs down, we both work in social care and finances are stretched to the limit. I know it's not ideal for the longevity of the car, but we will be 100% transparent with any buyer as I always keep bills & receipts to evidence work done.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!!
