Looking To Change AUDIO 10 And Get MP3 Support.

Hello,

I have an Audio 10 system fitted to my CLK 230 K , the only think is that i also have a Mercedes-Benz telephone integrated into the car, which is controlled through the steering wheel controls, I'm wondering if i change the Audio 10 head unit will it affect the phone and if so is there any recommendations for a replacement that may work in it's place.

I've fitted a Blaupunkt DAB52 in place of the Audio 10 in my SLK in order to play MP3 files. (As well as the usual FM/AM radio and Music CD capabilities, the DAB52 also has "digital radio", but that's another story, and not something I would pay extra for again.)

Fitting was simplicity itself, the connections being exactly the same as those on the Audio 10, i.e. unplug the Audio 10; plug in the DAB52; and that's it - apart from the "digital radio" aerial, if required. Everything works, including the dimming of the DAB52's display with the panel lights, and the most difficult part of the whole process was deducing how to release Audio 10 from the mounting in the dash without damaging it

My car does not have any additonal complications in the shape of mobile phone or Satnav connections, or whetever, but the DAB52 claims to be able to handle all these anyway and therefore includes several connectors which in my car are unused.
