Loose wing mirrors CLK 230 convertible

Hi all

Both electric mirrors on CLK 230 are 'loose'. Very shaky and feel as though they need 'tightening up'. Very annoying especially on motorways etc..

It may be that someone has attempted to dislodge them when the car was parked..does ur car have folding mirrors, if so retract the mirrors and then fold them in using the switch, then retract them again and they should tighten up..if not call with an indie or ur dealer and speak to someone in service and they will reset them for you

Is it the mirror that is shaking at high speed, as mine is the same, very annoying.

If anyone has remedy that would be great.

Does it have folding mirrors and are they retracted fully?

....my CLK doesnt have folding mirrors but I'm presuming they are all the same, if not ignore below.

Unclip the small speaker panel located inside the car behind the mirror (from memory I think you have to push towards the mirror and upwards at the same time) and you will find the mounting screws for the whole mirror assembly, again from memory there are 2 large crosshead screws and a smaller one, just nip them up.
