Recently lost all electrical control on seat and steering wheel adjustment, window and mirror on driver's side only. After tapping SAM module in fuse box, all functions returned.

Does the SAM need replacing or is it repairable. Could it be a loose relay?

Does the battery need disconnecting prior to removal?

Vehicle is 2001 E320 CDI

It should with luck just be a poor connection. It is better to disconnect battery as this SAM is active all the time. though your car is no age you could spray the contacts with switch cleaner. If it is a dry joint inside the SAM it can be soldered up
