I've a loss of oil pressure problem, and a couple of times it has stalled, with my w124 e280 auto.
It happens when the car is at running temperture, and when I am braking.
Can anyboby help me with this problem?
Cheers.

If the oil pressure drops off when braking that shows that the level is far too low, as all of the oil gets forced out of reach of the filter oil pick up

Unless the dip stick is the incorrect one then I know of nothing else that could do this,, unless the engine has stalled before the car stops, this being shown by the loss of oil pressure.

Wait till some of the 124 guys come on,,they know them well

You have an electrical oil pressure gauge which is powered from the ignition this makes me suspect that you have an electrical problem, maybe its the ignition switch or a corroded conection or fuse. If you have a large heavy key ring with lots of keys on it go for the switch first, the inertia of the keys etc may be sufficient to disturb the switch into an intermittent "off" position under braking.

loos of oil pressure

I dont want to sound silly, but this is my first of many mercedes, but there is a slight oil leak at the sump, would that cause the oil pressure to drop, and even make the car stall?

Yes, plug your leak, your problem solved.

Try a new gasket(You may have to drain the oil first).

No this could not cause the problems,, you can see where the oil leak is by spraying down the block with a de greaser, its the only way as oil is blown back by the fan and motion of the car, could be the timing cover or rocker cover, they are the most popular for leaks.

I would go on the lines of what wireman has said, as that could fit the bill
