Loss of power ML270 2002

Hi everyone, just in need of some help/advice. I have a 2002 ML270 starts and runs fine but just has no power. Won't go over 2000rpm really slow to pick up speed. I've been told by the garage I brought it from that the mechanic plugged it in and pointing to a vacuum pressure boost valve. Looking into similar threads another common like this points to the MAF sensor? Just trying to work out what is best to look at first is is there anyway of knowing? Tia

Need to check for any codes first, otherwise you could be chucking good money after bad by guessing

You need a Star session with a knowledgeable operator to pinpoint this.
The symptom suggests it's in limp mode which can be caused by many things.
Simply guessing at components gets very expensive very quickly.
