Hi I took my car into a garage to have the rear break pipes changed, so I thought I would be helpful and take of the panel that the break pipes run under, and while I was doing that I took of the centre Panel that runs under the exhaust, any way to cut a very long story short, the Company lost the center panel which is about 6feet long and 16 inches wide and goes from the gear box to the rear axle.

So my question is, are their any amg sports 220 cdi estate owners on this site, or does any one reading this post know somone with the same car, because Mercedes say that panel does not exsist, now Iam 72 years of age and I am still working on the merc, and I am the one who took the panel of, all I need is a photo of the panel, Please help me if you can.

P.S. Any time you take anypart of you car take a PHOTO OF IT, which I never did

hi i saw your post yesterday and had a look at my car which is a 2012 c class 220cdi AMG sport when i got home and mine does not have that panel and i couldnt really see any fixings that such a panel would locate onto, mine has the gearbox cover then nothing after that, i am not disbelieving you but i would have thought such a cover would run quite close to the exhaust i am assuming it had some form of heat protection in it as it would melt when on a regen surely

I would try one of the parts sites on the internet. I would suggest 7 Zap Mercedes but this does not seem to be working at the moment. Someone may be able to suggest another site which gives schematics and relevant part numbers.

Thank you for looking the panel does have heat protection in the form a bronze coating on the side that faces the exhaust, the panel fits under the gearbox with the same washerbolts as what holds the engine and gearbox panel, then mine has eight pop rivets special pop rivets as these dont completely cut the shalft off, but leaves a shaft that has a thread the same nuts that hold the two out side fibre panels on fit the panel to the car then as we go down the under neath there are six more three samll screwbolts that hold the rest of the panel in place.
Once again thank you

Hi the car is AMG Sports cdi 220 E-Class built in 2013

Sorry not my car thank you
S212 then, 2013 was just at the crossover to the facelift version so knowing that would help in the search,
Just fyi yours is just a sport, the AMG thing is just a trim designation, nothing actually AMG about it I’m afraid

Facelift S204 looking at the title and model year, just a tad too early for an S205

You are correct but, to find a part you first have to know the correct model which is a, AMG Sports cdi 220 E-Class built in 2013 estate with air rear shocks and with the correct vin number, you would think I could find the part but I am told that even Germany does not know???, which I find somthing is very wrong, so yes it is just designation but you should beable to find your part on a car like a merc.

All E class Mercedes have rear SLS, it’s been standard fit since the 124. As before there is no such model as an AMG sport, it’s just a sport with the option of AMG styling (wheels, side skirts, front and rear bumper) nothing else.

Are you talking about the silver heat shield I’ve highlighted below (the silver bit under the prop shaft and exhaust)

As you pointed out before and I have said you have to get the model correct and the vin number to find a part, ok, so what you are showing is the back end on a merc what model is I dont know.
As you see the pop rivets, they are a standard pop reivet same as mine at the back like this, but at the front I have 8 pop rivets that have a tail with a thred and at the back of the gearbox there is two used screw hole indenttations the same as the screwbolts that hold the engin under panel on the car.

It’s the back end of and S212 350 rather than 220 but the Center parts are the same.
What may be easier here is if you take a picture of the location on your car circle it and it might give us some chance at working out the part you need. Your reply above still doesn’t answer questions we’ve all been asking you though, even giving you links to parts diagrams doesn’t seems to help.

As before about the model, the AMG thing it’s irrelevant, yours is an S212 with the OM651 engine and the 722.9 (I think, could still be a 722.6) gearbox, you still haven’t clarified if it pre or post facelift which helps too (there were a little over 2000 changes between pre and post facelift cars) if you post your VIN number we might be able to help more
