Hello all,

I have been going on about fitting lowering springs to my CLK for sometime now...eventually I took a trip down to MBS and once again I was given A1 service...Fitted the springs and also refilled the AC gas after spending £50 already at KwickFit (which was pointless really).

Anyway..... I have gone for Eibach pro lowering springs and they should have lowered the car by 30-35mm all around. When we were fitting the springs, the front ones looked about an inch shorter than originals but when the car was dropped once wheels were fitted.... There is only a 1/4inch drop upfront. We were all very surprised as to why this might be. Perhaps the springs dont compress as much. Rear springs turned out to be exactly the same size as the standards but they lowered the car by about an inch or so.

So I am going to change the rubber housings to lower variant to lower the front a lil more as it looks very high up front now when rear end is just right.

Anyone else has similiar experience from Eibach parts? To be honest I was left very disappointed as fitted the springs for no difference in looks at all. Althought the ride is slightly firmer and it goes around bends a little better.

Just want to thank the guys at MBS as they were once agian very professional and provided me with great service.

Cheers guys

Back end is good but the front is sitting the same height as I thought it might no go down any more.....

I have noticed significant different in handling though...Very stable and sticking nicely on the bends. We will have to go with the rubber variants and see if that makes any more difference.

Thank you once again Cole

some springs can take a while to settle. varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. the front probably hasnt dropped as much due to the different spring rate, ie harder springs! glad youre happy though, at least when you get the height right. then all you need is the camber sorted and its happy days!

She sits perfect from back just when parked it looks a little higher at front. I am sure we cured the petrol leak/smell but can only really tell when I fill up next (probably a few days). Car was very cool indeed on the way home.... just got it sorted on right time as it was 33degrees on M3.....

Surprised it wasn't cool down the wrong end of the M27, I work with a Saints fan who keeps complaining about it being -10 in Southampton.

Amo, I had Eibachs fitted to my C270.
It has always sat higher at the front on std springs anyway, same as our C220 and a work mates C220.

Eibach stated a 25mm drop, and thats what I got once the springs settled. Still higher up front then the rear, but the car sits level.
Picture is a bit small, but it shows the stance.

As i'm sure the men at MBS know best....
Can my front go down anymore and still be a usable "family" car? Say 10mm
Cheers.

Amo had "5" cups in the front, which we are going to change to "2", that should drop it another inch! you can drop quiet a bit by just changing the top cups!!

Mine is alot higher than yours.... I dont think you need to go any lower to be honest. You can change the rubber cups at the top of the springs to lower variant to see difference but it will be best to keep it as it is for a family car,

My car is only ever used by me and my partner so its ok for me to for lower drop as I would hardly ever have a fully loaded car.
