Hi
Just put a set of 18" wheels on my 1998 E320,and now the car looks a little bit too high.so i want to lower it,but most suppliers can only offer a 40mm drop,i have found one that can supply a 35mm drop, but ideally i would only like to drop by 30mm.Can anyone tell me if there is a supplier that can offer 30mm springs?
Best wishes

The height of Mercedes can usually be adjusted by the use of different thickness spring pads. Depending what thickness pads you currently have, you may be able to drop it upto 20-25mm with different pads. Alternatively go for the 35mm drop springs and use thicker pads to acheive the height you want.

I have just done this today on mine.

These pads are the same thing as shims they have notches on them which determines the thickness the more notches the thicker the rubber don?t know how you could find out the difference they will make to the height of the car

What profile tyres are you using that have made the car sit so high?

Your gearing will be altered and more importantly your speedo will given an incorrectly low reading.

Any risk of tyres and body coming in contact?

Perhaps though it is just a visual thing but its worth checking the outside diamters of the old wheel/tyre set up and the new one.

Try Eibach, which has a very comprehensive range of springs and although not the cheapest, produces excellent quality kit.

Hi
New tyres and wheels are correct in accordance with upgrade-i think it is just the lack of tyre wall and extra alloy which make it look 'jacked' up slightly-i know the old BMW E30 suffered from this badly when upgrading to Alpina's.
Just managed to locate a set of Jamex, which lower by 35mm-the guy at Jamex even surprised himself,as they do not list springs for the W210 E320.I gave him a part number from a website, and he had one set within the entire Jamex network.
I have tried all other makes, but the best they could offer was a 40mm drop,so hopefully my 35mm drop will do the trick.
