Would a 230E M102 W124 spec (duplex timing chain) engine fit and work in a 230E M102 W123 car?

I would retain the manifolds and all ancillaries, so I just need to know whether the block and cylinder heads are the same please.

Absolutely 100% the same thing, narrower main bearings if memory serves, but it fits perfectly! Even the 200 engine will go in and work, as long as you fit all the manifolds and goodies that were on the original engine to the new engine.

Done it before, so I'm completely certain of it!
