Hi all

Does anybody know who makes the OEM crankshaft pulley for a 2003 m113 5.0. Has anybody used the Febi Bilstein one? Or is genuine the only way to go?

Thanks in advance

Ollie

The Febi is fine. The Mercedes original has become very expensive

You're lucky you don't have the 55 engine, it cost me over £700 for my crank pulley, and it was unnecessary as the old one was fine. Though I got back £100 when I sold my old one.

Another option I have found is a Corteco pulley, anybody have any ideas on that?

Many thanks

Okay, thank you. I am also struggling to find anywhere that sells the tool to hold the pulley, any ideas where I could get one?

There is a “field repair” option that works. You can remove a torque converter bolt and replace it with a longer bolt and a socket with a washer each side. Use a small piece of wood to brace it against the side of the access hole in the sump. It’s no substitute for the correct tool, but will work in an emergency.

I am going to be changing the pulley today, can anyone confirm the torque settings for the bolt please? I think it’s 147 lb ft plus 45 degree!

Crank pulley and belt successfully changed, thank you all for your input. Just rocker gaskets and engine mounts to do now ‍♂️.
