Hello,
After a s211 and a c218, I recently went back to another c219 v8 and this time to the 55amg model.
Car came with few issues, one was a leaking a/c system. System was refilled with the dye and after few days and some visual checks it was found that the a/c condenser needed swapping. Now, upon replacement of the a/c condenser we found out that the engine's cooling rad is in bad shape (visually its external condition is not great but is working OK with no issues with the temperature etc).

Now, as a precaution, I am considering to replace the radiator and flush/ refill the system with fresh g11 (and swap the thermostat too) and would like to know what else should be replaced while I am doing that (not by me but by the merc specialist). Obviously I will also ask their opinion based on their experience with the specific engine m113k but I would like the forum's opinion and your thoughts from your personal exposure to any issue that you have might come across in the cooling system.

I had few bimmers in the past and that cars were horrible (the least to say) in regards to their cooling systems with many issues with the hoses, expansion tanks, some specific plastic splitters on which the hoses were attached etc.

Thank you in advance.

I ran a W211 E55 for 6 years without any cooling problems so I don't think you need worry about hoses , expansion tanks failing prematurely.
Just a good check on condition when refitting new radiator.

Fit a new radiator by all means and get them to look at the hoses too at this age point. If your waterpump seems ok I’d probably advise to leave it alone. There are two O rings that seal the timing case to the block, and one of them is relaxed when you remove the water pump bolts. If it starts to leak it’s a very big job to put it right. Long and short, don’t replace the water pump unless you have to.

Never had a hint of a cooling problem with my M113k engine. It's just not a thing, unless your hoses are becoming brittle with age and heat cycles.
