M156 Timing chain stretch

Hi everyone.

Is there a way to measure chain stretch on the M156 engine wothout sending it into Mercedes (i think they have a tool for it)?

I think you answered your own question, get the appropriate tool

No, set the bottom of the engine to TDC, lock the adjusters (using the tool) and see where the cams are in relation.

No i meant the chain stretch tool Mercedes use. It screws into the same hole the tensioner goes.
