M156 Timing chain stretch

Hi everyone.

Is there a way to measure chain stretch on the M156 engine wothout sending it into Mercedes (i think they have a tool for it)?

No, set the bottom of the engine to TDC, lock the adjusters (using the tool) and see where the cams are in relation.
