Had a fault code showing maf sensor issue. No engine light but getting no boost.

Read that you can try and clean the maf sensor.

Might be stupid question but I'm assuming there's only one? And can I use isopropyl alcohol to clean ?

Lastly how to locate it?

Smart + others :)
Very rarely a maf fault on this engine, never changed one yet. Normally something else. What diagnostic are you using?

If you want to clean use carb cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. MAF located directly after the filter. Follow the air canal it will have a wire attached.
If it is the MAF, buy genuine mercedes.
Good luck.

Have you located it..?
Is this it? Seems to be 2 clips and a sensor attached? Any other screws or clips? 20210809_103408.jpg

Well done,
Clean the oil.
Use a spray can (Wynns air flow intake cleaner) cleaner tube to go through the gauze and take the film of oil off the sensor.
Do not touch the filaments of the sensor. Allow to evaporate.
By the way, can you see the plug to the sensor, how many wires and what colour..?

Woops I uses isopropyl alcohol and also I used a cotton bud to clean the little sensor bit inside.

I'll haven't actually driven it yet but I may have to buy another one

For future reference do not touch the hot wire/film as it is incredibly easy to damage. Cleaning rarely works and can hasten the sensor demise. The reason for this is the deposits (often only oxidation) burn into the wire and slowly it away. Cleaning it makes the wire thinner which then changes its electrical characteristics and makes it more prone to failure.

This is what we did on my son's VW Gti and it worked for a while. An expensive replacement was the definitive solution.
