another one! Anyone got any ideas for performance boosting?

just simple things. So far ive done the air filter, plugs, run some injector cleaner, had the cat removed, set the timing, and yea i stopped about there.

ive been thinking of doing the fuel filter....any one had experience with this?

Every little thing i do seems to give it a bit more go. It seems to have plenty of bottom end pull (pep) but at high speeds it seems to struggle to pick up....

A few things you could do:

1. Exhaust Header. (Change to Branches, one for each cylinder. Make sure the the backspressure does not drop too low otherwise the exhaust valves may not close properly.)

2. Free Flow Exhaust System. Change the current exhaust to free flow. A decent agent could construct it without leaving you with a noisy car. (Again, make sure about the backpressure)

3. Cam re-profiling. (This is getting to the more extream side). Cutting a different profile on the camshaft will allow the valves to stay open for longer and thus allow more air/fuel to enter and = more power.)

4. Upgrade fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. (More fuel pressure, more power)

5. ECU Upgrade. Upgrade the Engine Control Unit. This will give better timing and mixture control. ( Can be done by chipping or piggy backing.)

6. Gasflow the head. (Also called "Porting") Have the head gasflowed. This will speed up the air/fuel flow going into the engine and the exhaust gasses will exit more easily. ( Faster air/fuel = more pressure = more fuel in the combustion chamber. This ussually makes a big difference in conjunction with free flow and headers. These two ideas combined could give 15% more power at top end, but the real bonus is the increased drivability through the rpm range.)

7. Re-profile combustion chamber. This can be done at the same time the head is gasflowed. This will allow better combustion.

8. Supper charge/ Turbo Charge.(this is expensive and should only be done by a reputable prefessional. Some other upgrades will be necessary when doing this to be able to handle all the extra power. This ussually adds 50% more power.)
