Just to kick off why not put your name and details up on your signature, others do that.

you help a lot of people here and have never used the forum for your own gain.

You will go into the list of indies when that is ready

Good start.
The best marketing is always word of mouth so if you are as good as you appear to be, you'll be stacked out before you know it anyway! (try getting in my my local indie!)
I first heard of mine via a leaflet left under my wiper. As it was an 'mb' leaflet left on my MB I didn't resent it like you do with more general ones and it went in my glovebox to be kept for future reference. I then spoke to another owner who recommended them. Having already heard of them, this recommendation then meant something.
It might be worth having some printed and hitting all the local multi storeys and resturant car parks.
Another thing is to have ads on your loan cars if you have any.

I find that people do search the web for "the nearest mercedes service garage". So if you had a website (which I can be contracted to build for you ) you could tailor it to make sure that you will be one of the top results returned for you area. (I do all this:mrgreen:)

But anyway this thread has worked a treat as a start we can refer anyone that posts a relevant enquiry, to you...

Hence register on all the merc forums and ask the same question.....:D:D

Register a good domain name, www.mercedesservice.co.uk, keep the name short and dont use .net.org.uk.net etc people forget, if they see you in the paper they need to remember the link.
What is the business name ???
Get a professional website created, bespoke not an off the shelf site and get it searchable through google!!!!!!!! make sure you have keywords in there like Mercedes, service, servicing, Benz W140, w202 etc etc you could find yourself at the top in the google listings within days.

A web presence is essential, people need to know your out there and the place to look with be the internet.

List the services your company / business provide, let people see what your about, I could ghive you links to some MB sites to give you an idea of what not to do...
Make sure there are good quality pictures, ie the workshop has some of the lastest MB and the classics in there for service etc.

hope this helps. if you need a site let me know.

get one of those billboard vans and park it near the dealer. (May not make you too popular though). Or one of those advertising trucks on a local motorway junction.
Have you had your local paper do an 'advertising feature' on you?

Another great place is the airport car parks. Lots and lots and lots of Mercs in there!
