Hi guys.
Don’t like doing this on my first post but I’m at my whits end.
Right, I’ve done a search and nothing too helpful has come up. My issue is as title. I’ve fitted a new inter cooler to intake pipe as it was split and the error stayed. So I cleaned the MAF and this also fixed nothing. Bit he bullet and changed the MAF But to no avail. Does anybody have any idea where else to look? When I reset the fault it comes straight back, even with the engine off, just can’t get my head around it.
Thanks

What fault codes are coming up?

I’m using I carsoft MB2 to read and reset codes.

As per the thread, is usually down to air leaks. Have you smoke tested the engine?

I haven’t. I’ll have to get some kit and try that. Thing that’s puzzling me is the fault code is there with engine off after it’s been reset. Surly the engine would have to run to generate the code?

yes, but are you cycling the ignition (off 10 seconds then on again) after erasing?

I'd try another tool then.

OR the MAF is reporting an airflow even when the engine isnt running.

Either way, you will probably need Xentry (star) to sort it properly without going round and round.

That’s what I’m starting to think. Thanks for all the input.

I recently diagnosed one sprinter with similar fault, MAF gave error just after ingnition on. Reason was offset in boost sensor reading, even engine shut down, systm read pressure difference --> calculated there should be air flow ---> detected MAF is not giving reading --> concluded MAF fault. Only difference was there was intermittent boost failure if engine was running and revved (due to bad pressure sensor).

Depending on engine, but of course between turbo and intake manifold. :) Google will be your friend if you don't have WIS.
