Matrix heating

Can anyone tell me were to locate the matrex I've pulled out the clove compartment and can't seem to find it shall I carry on taken this poxy car apart please help

Can't say for your car but on my W124 and my son's W201 it's a b@st@rd of a job entailing complete removal of the dashboard and all that goes with it.

He replaced the 201's matrix due to a leak and spent one weekend removing and the next weekend replacing. Every pipe, wire and vacuum tube was labelled to simplify reassembly.

He estimated total parts cost at 120€. Labour cost zero BUT, at a garage, 2000€ +.

I sincerely hope it is simpler on your car. Others will know better than I.

That tends to be the case these days ... they appear to build the whole car around the matrix. Years back, the heater matrix on my MKIII Cortina & MKI Cavalier could be replaced in about 20 mins max
