MB Bonnet badge removal

I should know this, BUT FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, how do I remove the bonnet badge on my Cl500 (1995). I bought a new badge 6 months ago and still cant work out how to replace it.

Does not the badge fix with 2 nuts or spire clips. you can feel the badge under the sound proofing, I would make a small slit in the sound proofing under the badge.A tough of EVO stick, and no one would know.
