Have a MB CD/Radio out of my '99 CLK. I replaced this with a aftermarket unit with Bluetooth and when I traded the car in I forgot to swap them back. Was sorting through the garage at the w/e and spotted it so am looking to get rid of it but would it be code protected? Has it a value or am I better off slinging it in the bin?

Thanks

Hi,
The code is freely available on the net by suppling the make model and serial number of the stereo.
Some make a small charge for it, if you look hard enough you could even download the software to find the code yourself.
God knows how it all works.

Is it in fully working order? The unit in my 320 has a CD fault, only plays intermittently and randomly spits the disc out then tantalisingly swallows it agaqin when you reach for it! I was going to try a cd 'head' cleaner to see if it would improve and then, like you, replace it with a more modern unit......however, if a standard, fully functional unit was cheap enough???
