Since my last post on 30th May, the same dealer had the car back to replace a sensor for the turbo pressure. This produced the same result as I stated before...Go through the gears from kick-down 1st and by the time you are doing 140-160ks still accelerating the power then peels off and you end up at 2000rpm on the level.Switch off for 3 mins and its ok again until you accelerate again. Tomorrow the MB dealer is ajusting the new Turbo and sending me out again from Gibraltar to test the vehicle in Spain.Apparantly the new turbo has to be ajusted..I dont believe this will make any difference after 2 months having the same problem.Does anybody know whether I can just disconnect the MAF plug on the air-pipe just to test whether that might be the problem? Please answer me someone this time...!

HI

I think you have a boost pressure control problem. the boost pressure is controled via a vacuem transducer this could be faulty or you have a leak at some point on the vac lines

Thanks Piestore.Today the waste-gate on the new turbo was ajusted 3 turns and it was ok after heavy testing!I have instructed them to set up the old turbo the same and try it on the car as I dont believe it was faulty and at 1600 euros for a new one!!!!

I had mine stripped down at the weekend and I saw the adjustment mechanism you are describing. Could well be a cause, because it adjusts amount of Turbo actuation to vacuum suction. Setting it up though would be trial and error unless you have some kind of tuning kit.

I've got Carsoft diagnostics and it has nothing in-built to do with testing or adjusting the Turbo vane actuation mechanism!
