If you need to dehumidify an unheated space such has a garage, these are the perfect unit as they work in very low temperatures. I have one in my own garage.

Whilst the headline 20 Litre/day capacity of the 20L unit may seem appealing, thats only acheiveable in a warm space like the home.

I think I might get one. The standard compressor type dehumidifier is useless if the temperature is around 10C or less.
Temperature and humidity makes big difference in extraction rate.

Never had any trouble with mine , as the dehumidifier operates warmer air will exit the front at the same time, bringing the temp up in the room to above the freezing point .. I lived in a mobile caravan for 20 years with just one dehumidifier to do the job .

Your extraction rate will however be minimal at only a few degrees above freezing if its a compressor type.

We put a 20L Compressor unit in an unheated Ballroom at a country house, and it pulled out about 1 litre a day. In the same room, a Desiccant machine with capacity to pull 8L/day did just that - its 2.5L tank needed emptying 3 times every 24 hours.

Whilst I appreciate your anecdotal notes, there is considerable science behind this and desiccant is the only choice for unheated spaces, unles syou have Hot Gas Defrost, a feature on the more expensive machines such as Mitsubishi, but they spend a lot of time defrosting a frozen chill plate rather than actually drawing moisture out of the air.
