Has anyone any experience with an old Mechanical Injection system? i.e. how to service?

The car hardly runs, its real ropey!

I have replaced distributor cap, points, contacts, plugs and have a fantastic spark! I removed the injectors and have had them flushed as they are a sealed unit and it does not appear that you can service them.

So my next issue seems to be the mechanical fuel injection system?

Advice? / Help?

You have the old 'in line' pump similar to early diesel pumps.

Have you checked the compressions?
In the circled area 1 you'll find the mixture adjusting screw (it's not pictured).NEVER ENGAGE OR TURN THIS WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING-AT BEST,YOU'LL DESTROY THE PUMP!!!!To adjust the mixture, push it in & turn until you feel it engage, then turn it a bit, release & recheck the mixture.Aim for 3 to 3.5% at idle.
Check that the throttle body is clean & that no-one has tampered with the throttle stop screw.

In the above link part 145 is the idle screw, check that this circuit is clean & has no air leaks (including past the screw threads).
