HI looking for advice on my auto gearbox, had a prob couple weeks back loosing the drive to the box when slowing down or idling, switch off engine restart and it works fine maybe half a mile then same again, changed atf and filter and went well for 2 weeks then the same problem occurs, now I've changed the torque converter oil, all to the correct level. AND now it won't shift from what is 2nd gear !! Throttle up and down no change. Any ideas it all sounds OK a little jolt when you pull the stick back into the drive position but just won't change. ???? Thanks.

The car needs taking to a Mercedes specialist with Star diagnostics. The transmission related fault codes will show the problem.
As above, I'd suspect the conductor plate.

Does sound very much like the speed sensor in the conductor plate is failing sticking in 2nd gear is a big clue there are specific fault codes for this if you search the web
