Hi everyone,

I am new to the site and would like some help.

I would like to purchase in the coming months an SL280/350 from 1978 to 1980. I am a bit weary of the price variations I have seen so far in the press. Could someone indicate how much I should pay for one of those models in good condition, or alternatively, if a cheaper car, what I am to be careful off? Are they usual pitfalls on these models? (Gearbox/clutch, electrics, roof canvas...). Thanks for your help!

Olivier

PS By the way, in connoisseur's term, what series am I looking at? W107?

yes thats the chasis no r107. Theres lots of owners of these on here. i am sure if you do a search for 'r107' or 'buying and sl' you will find lots of useful info. with regards to price what have you seen? private purchase of about £10k will get you something decent, under £7 will be ropey!!
