im not familiar with either box but i would imagine that the ratios will be different in the ml box and the entire box will meed modified as a 4 wheel drive gearbox has a transfer box/center diff mounted at the back of it fo the drive to the front axle. any 4 wheel drive boxes ive worked with, the transfer box was not a bolt on unit without stripping the box. even if this was done, theres no guarantee it would fit. i think id carry on looking for a gearbox out of another sl, or maybe something like a c320 or e320 gearbox will fit. i think they would be more likely to fit, but its not my strong point im afraid. im sure someone will be along shortly with the answer you need!

well it says its sticking, but sticking where? in gear? in 1 gear? i see what you mean. it may be a relatively cheap fix! are the gearboxes unique or would a box from another model fit, perhaps with a changed bellhousing? (assuming theyre removable)
