Merc C220 1995 SPORT CUT OUT PROBLEM

Hello,

I've Just Bought A C220 Merc 1995 With 113,000 Miles On The Clock,
On The Way Back From Seller(50 Mile) Journey, After 47 Miles Car Cut Out, Electrics All Worked But Engine Died And Just Cruised Into The Side Of The Road, It Wouldn't Restart But After Approx. 5 Mins Started Ok And Ran Fine For Rest Of The Journey And Starts Ok On The Drive Now, I've Checked Oil Levels(ok), Coolant Levels(seem Fine), Engine Seemed Warm But Not Overly So. Just Wondering If N E One Has Any Ideas?

Sounds like the crankshaft sensor,£46 from any Bosch service center thats ½ mb price

thanks very much for a quick response, I'll try that, is it easy to fit? has anyone posted on here a guide to fitting this part? i read parrots post on the MAF and that was great.

I went on a 12 mile trip again tonight fine on the way there, but cut out on the way back, this time slow speed as i was entering a slow corner and also at approx. 30 mph just driving along, not accelerating.

Though there is alwaya the odd man out but this sensor would be the first thing to check
