Merc c280 1995. alarm issues

Hi all. i'm a newbie to owning a lovely car. only probem i'm having with it is the alram. remote central locking arms & disarms as normal. But if alarm goes off i get no audible alarm just the indicators flashing. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks. LeeBert:cool::cool:

Hi and welcome, it would appear the the siren has been deactivated.

Look forthe siren btw the air filter and the fuse box

Is your alarm Merc or is it by any chance a Clifford ?

Sorry Lee, I know nothing about Merc alarms, Clifford however is another matter,a lot of Merc's were fitted with these aftermarket

Test the siren by unplugging it from the car's wiring. Put a separate 12v feed through it (for example from a spare battery). If it doesn't make a sound you know it is faulty. Cheap enough to replace.

Yours should be a factory fit scorpion alarm system, search the forum for scorpion and there is loads on here.
Look at the siren, there should be a black circular plastic flap, open it and you will see a key hole. You should have a small key somewhere and thats used for turning off the siren.
Where are you??? I had to do loads of reasearch on the scorpion alarm because my dad has one on his 320CE

nope my keyfob is nothing like that i'm afraid. i'll have a look tomorrow for the siren. i'm now goin to look for scorpion for any info. thanks fot all your help
