My slk has had its b service done today.
Those on this site will know the probs i had ( only bought only done 1500 miles since bought) with this 2005 slk when car came back my wife drove home i checked the service indicator it is now showing 9000 miles approx to "d " service is this right??
What is a "d "service?
I noticed the near side mirror was at a different position from the norm and when i adjusted it back to normal driving position low and behold i have a 6" dent on the drivers door just down from window but not on the wide part of doorline.
I phoned the dealer to adv him of this and was told to bring the car in to let him see it,I advised him that it was washed on sunday and there was no sign of damage then.
So another 60 mile round trip again the 5 since we bought the car in june.
I was wondering what my options are concerning this dent as obviously my wife just drove home without checking car in garage.
I will be as nice as possible tomorrow when I go in but was wondering if anybody else has had this experience??And any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance:-(

'D' is a diagnostic service, they plug your car in then the computer decides how much to lighten your wallet.
I had a previous car driven into whilst parked at a car dealer following a service, I didn't notice until I took it for a new tyre. Phoned them up and they didn't argue at all. I think they probably knew about the damage and as my car was a company one at the time thought I may not notice. They replaced the bumper no issue.
I would be very nice but also very firm that they fix the dent.

It is a private car used only by my missus bought in june and total of 7500 miles approx we have done 1500 approx since june!!
The size and shape of the dent is like someone leaning or kneeling on the bend under the window.
I might be a bit of a conspiracy theorist but the moving of the nearside wing mirror is a bit suss too!!! couldn't see dent until mirror was back to normal position.
I love the car (when she lets me drive it) but I am getting a bit weary of the problems.
Door seal faulty ,then returned after this with roof leak took two attempts to sort.(stil leaking but only very small)will leave as is.
Faulty indicator stalk, been repaired twice as car wants to keep turning left (dangerous as people come out of junctions in front of you).

The service indicator coming on last week after only two months ownership and 1500 miles for a Jan 2005 car??(has 5400 on clock when bought)

I had to make three phonecalls before someone from the dealer would agree to this service free of charge and now its returned with a nasty dent on door.

Glad to hear it, looks as if you are building up a relationship with your dealer. As long as they stand by the issues and fix them I am happy.

glad to hear its sorted.

your service indicator has timed out. from Jan 05 to now would mean it was due for timing reason and nothing to do with mileage.

mine, when i got it with 16miles on, was due at 9500miles, it is now due at 11263miles but as the car has done only 8200 i expect it to be around the 12000mile mark whe it finaly comes due. and new tryes will be needed then as well.

If you put your key in the ingition, turn it to the first position and press the "R" button 3 times before the SRS light flashes, you can then scroll through a menu that gives you service information using your steering wheel menus options, it will tell you in time to your next service or miles! it gives you an option to add, or delete items from the service next due, tells you the battery charge state too.

and if you really try, you can switch totally off your ESP, but it also switches off the ABS and BAS. so best not to.
