Hi everyone,

I have never used a forum before but I am at my wits end. I’m a little bit frustrated as a Paralympic athlete and Gold Medalist I use my van for taking my bikes (I compete in triathlon) to races but also for training.

Recently it has given me some issues. It drives perfectly fine, gearbox changes smooth, however if I put it in drive and then put it in reverse, even though the engine goes into reverse the display on the dash saves D it also is the same when I put it in neutral.

If I then try to drive it, a symbol comes on the dash showing a wheel going backwards and it won’t then change gear, staying in first to I suppose protect the engine.

I cleaned lots of contacts and took a few photos attached I also found a broken piece.

Any advice?

I have tried to find some replacement parts but no one can seem to help me.

What parts should I change and maybe someone knows where to get them?

Thanks for your help in advance

Andy Lewis

First things first, you need to get it to someone who has an OBD scanner and run a scan on it. When the fault codes show, on the scanner. and are deciphered, you will have a pretty good idea on what the actual fault or faults are, and what course of action needs to be taken.

You are correct in that the selector module electronics have failed.

The last one I had in with this fault I was unable to find a replacement module.

Reading the state of the sensors. I could see that one of the hall sensors was always being triggered. I ended up desoldering the sensor and swapping it across.

You really should try and get something to read the ECU to aid in diag. Maybe an Icarsoft that can read the selector module directly.

You might be able to find a replacement board by searching numbers on the PCB. It wasn't a part available separately from mb.
