Mercedes 190 2.5 16v - info?

I am going to look at a 1990 2.5 16V Cosworth soon.
It is an Auto and has 117k miles.
Is the auto a good match for this engine?
Does it lose a lot in performance or economy?
Is there anything in particular that I should look?
Am I right in thinking it produces 197 bhp?
Performance figures for Auto?
Does anybody have any other advice?
Is it a good car generalluy?
