Mercedes 190E Value?

Hi guys

Been offered a 1989 F-reg Mercedes 190e 2.0 Auto with only 69000 miles and full mercedes SH (last done at 68500), Malachite green with creme cloth, alloys etc. 5 owners. Mint appart from one small dent that is easily fixed. Nice looking machine. Friend at main dealer has taken it in against a C-Class and offered it to me before it goes to auction. He knows I like the older cars.
Is it a future classic?
He is talking about £600 cash

I don't know anything about the value of the cars, but even to me it seems like a great deal! Espes with the MB service history and the low miles!

Don't know about future classic...

...but they're lovely cars, 67k mi and a full service history is just about run-in in my experience, the 2.0l auto is what the the car appears to have been conceived around, and...

£600 cash is a good deal for a good 'un, I reckon.

Try and knock him down a bit, they are good solid cars, and I would say a future classic. But at auction it would just be seen as an 'old car' and probably not make £600 (I saw an nice N plate C200 go for less than a grand).

Offer him £400 and wave the cash under his nose

These were rated as one of the best cars ever built, offer him £500 he can only say no, it will cost him money to enter the car in an auction + commission

If you don't need it, buy it anyway and advertise it on here to a fellow enthusiast who does! £100 on top for your trouble and everyone's a winner

Buy it !... you're not gonna get ripped of for £600. Any pile of junk with a 12 month MOT is worth £450 nevermind a half decent Benz with a good history !

Seems I am in a bidding war now for it with one of the dealer mechanics. He has approached the Sales Manager and offered £650 for it. NOt sure if it is worth going above that?

Damn, got pipped at the post by a dealer employee. I was in court so could not answer my phone
Went for £775 in the end, bit of a mini auction. Still a lot of car for the money.

Now, there is also a 1991 Mercedes 230 TE with 122000 miles (I think), 7 seater in grey, auto, apparently a nice car for £750. Dont know about owners or history, mot etc. Going to have a look on Sunday.
